Life Science Graduate Facility
Illinois Medical District, Chicago, Illinois

The Illinois Medical District (IMD) began a large scale expansion of its campus just west of downtown Chicago and chose FSG as the lead professional design firm. The program included a new life sciences graduate research facility as well as a new multi-million dollar mixed use office/hotel/retail complex.

Working in conjunction with teams of developers, designers and contractors, FSG played a critical role in bringing the IMD’s vision to reality. The entire program will be completed over the course of several years.

FSG provided the following services: facility programming and planning, cost analysis, owner representation, master planning, design support, coordination and technology assessment.

Southwest Michigan First Biotech Incubator
Kalamazoo, Michigan

The 58,000 square foot two story incubator/accelerator was conceived to provide a comprehensive range of support and assistance to nurture the formation, survival and growth of innovative, entrepreneurial-driven, life science firms.  It includes the latest wet-lab technology (individual labs are 500 sq. ft.), as well as office space and conference facilities. The design of this building allows for future expansion.  Opened in 2003, it is nearing capacity, fully four years ahead of schedule.

West Gate @ Crane
Daviess County Growth CouncilDaviess County High-Technology Park,
Indiana

The Technology Park inside West Gate @ Crane began as an 8 to 10 acres site, with future plans for West Gate aimed at expansion to over 200 acres. The tech park is designed to house a technology incubator, an accelerator building

and graduate facilities.  The park is located directly outside a 100 square mile military base, known for its technological advances in electric hybrid vehicles, infrared and imaging technologies, fuel cells and advanced manufacturing.  Daviess County is also working with adjoining counties to develop this technology park.  Our team has been instrumental in helping Daviess County to create Indiana’s first multi county initiative to develop this technology park, which will create, attract and generate new companies.
