Monsanto is a world leader in crop improvement both through biotechnology and plant breeding.  FSG provided the needs assessment, feasibility and preliminary engineering studies for the upgrade of a Monsanto facility.  The facility consisted of 550,000 square feet of plant cell development laboratories, growth chambers, planting and potting operations, and greenhouses.  It included retrofitting laboratories, scale-up of the environmental chambers for segregated hybrids, greenhouses and material handling studies.. This project included working with key environmental chamber vendors on upgrades, specifications development as well as segregation and cross-contamination concerns.

Kovler Laboratory, cGMP Research Space

The Kovler project involved  remodeling an existing building into a 3,000 square foot cGMP and support research space, and a 10,000 square foot  research laboratory for stem cell research, toxicology, flow cytometry, animal transplant islet prep, gene array, microscopy, peptide dimmer, monoclonal antibodies,  and Immunhistochemistry,   With a bioreactor and immunoassay labs, it supports preclinical and clinical development in stem cell pancreatic islets,
