CeeTox is a Contract Research Organization (CRO) focused on in vitro toxicity screening of potential drug candidates. It works with cell cultures, which need to be protected. FSG designed this lab not only to protect the cell cultures via sequential processing steps but also to maximize flexibility through the use of multiple pod spaces. We took advantage of the incubator's demising walls which
could be used to separate the company's processes. The labs were then organized using casework and equipment to meet the company’s unique needs.
Confidential Client Kalamazoo, Michigan
This client required a lab design with clearly separated processes. One area created air vibration within the room. The other process involved anti-vibration tables requiring flexible utility feeds. Future expansion needs of the client were in the anti-vibration process. To accommodate this, some of the demising walls were eliminated, except one wall used as a barrier between the two processes. The
space was divided by workstations using equipment and casework, creating "floating" workspaces. FSG resolved the challenge of supplying utilities by equipping ceiling tiles with quick connect utility connections. This provided for flexibility and simplified future expansion.
