This project provided a new, larger suite to improve efficiencies and turnaround times. The area was designed using lean manufacturing practices. FSG analyzed the repair time for the clinical engineering staff, processes used to diagnose equipment problems, how equipment was directed to the proper repair specialists, repair schedules, redistribution timelines of the repaired equipment and how the equipment got back to service its home department. This analysis helped FSG to design the clinical engineering department with increased capabilities and reduced costs for the hospital. |

Linen Department Renovation

The hospital's decision of outsource the laundry department did not eliminate the distribution, collection and general management of linens. FSG was commissioned to renovate an expansion to linens for a sanitary distribution facility. The design process reviewed the flow of material and people to establish methods for keeping the required separation between soiled and clean linens. We also identified the quantity of outgoing linen, newly cleaned linen, and the staging of the linen. Both air and lighting requirements were designed to aid in keeping sanitary conditions without cross contamination. |
