Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Level II
Chicago, Illinois.

The building's medical gas system did not provide for isolation of this level I NICU for down time during construction.  FSG solved this issue by bringing in an aerospace industry consultant who had patented a tapping technique that was used for repair of F-16's hydraulic lines.  FSG incorporated this unique methodology, tapping into existing lines without shutting down the entire system.  The new level II incorporated seven beds in an isolated room, with power and mechanical systems monitored to provide comfort for the critical and fragile patients.

Reproductive Center at Mitchell Hospital

This portion of Mitchell hospital was renovated to accommodate a new 8,000 square foot IVF center needed to service a growing clientele.  It included increased capacity for cryogenic storage and improvements to aid in staff efficiencies in conducting clinical trials.  The facility included consultation and exam rooms, an IVF laboratory and andrology laboratories sized to accommodate cryo storage vessels for specimen banking. The area was set up for research, clinical trials, research offices, and regulated documentation library all under GLP.
