This series of laboratories were designed for research, and provide testing services for routine molecular genetic and cytogenetic testing. Additionally, prenatal, pediatric, adult, metabolic, neurogenetic, dysmorphology, brain malformation, and craniofacial genetic evaluations are performed in this lab. These labs adjoin each other to facilitate management of the testing results, utilizing central record keeping and administrative procedures developed under GLP and IDPH regulatory guidelines. |

Pharmacy Renovation
Chicago, Illinois.
The purchase of a new $1.2 million pharmacy robot created the need for this project, While this remodel took place prior to the U.S. Pharmacopeia's (USP) introduction of chapter 797 (compounding of sterile preparations), the pharmacy made many compounds that would be covered under these new requirements. FSG's experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing compounding was invaluable in preparing the design and procedures based on the new USP standards. FSG created the design improving material/order distribution flow and security, creating three distinct areas within the 13,000 square foot area. |

Labor and Delivery – Birthing Suites
Chicago, Illinois.
FSG worked closely with the infection control staff to set boundaries, control material, air, and traffic flow (construction workers) to limit the impact of construction on the area, since this was a remodel on a floor in continual use.
Many specific health and sanitation issues were engineered into the birthing options provided by the rooms. Low key monitoring systems were designed to for the well being of both the mother and child. FSG teamed with a water birth consultant to design birthing suites, with comfortable and home-like interior finishes. |
